  • 2 tablespoons sugar syrup optional, for sweetness

Equipment

Method

  1. Spread the blueberries evenly on a baking sheet and place them in the freezer for at least 2 hours until frozen solid and icy.
  2. Once frozen, transfer the blueberries to your blender and pulse a few times to break them apart, then blend on high until smooth and thick, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice, mint leaves, and sugar syrup to the blended blueberries. Blend again to combine and infuse the flavors.
  4. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness by adding more syrup if desired. If the mixture is too thick, blend in a splash of cold water or more ice.
  5. Pour the mixture into chilled glasses. The slushie should have a thick, frosty texture with small ice spheres visible, resembling a burst of frozen summer.
  6. Garnish each glass with a sprig of mint and a few fresh blueberries for a vibrant finish. Serve immediately to enjoy its icy, refreshing texture.

Notes

To make your own frozen blueberries, simply rinse fresh berries and freeze them spread out on a baking sheet until solid, then transfer to a storage bag. For extra flavor, try adding a splash of blueberry liqueur or swirling in some yogurt before serving.
