Coffee Slushie

A coffee slushie is a frozen beverage made by blending brewed coffee with sugar and ice, resulting in a silky, velvety texture. The process involves chilling the coffee and then pulsing it with ice until smooth and frosty, creating a refreshing, rich, and creamy drink with a vibrant coffee flavor and slushy consistency.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot brewed coffee let it cool completely before blending
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 cups ice cubes for a thick, slushy texture
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream optional, for smoothing

Equipment

  • Coffee maker or kettle
  • Blender

Method

  1. Brew a cup of coffee and set it aside to cool completely, ensuring it’s at room temperature or chilled.
  2. Pour the cooled coffee into a small bowl and stir in the sugar until fully dissolved. This creates a sweetened coffee base.
  3. Add ice cubes to your blender, creating a frosty base for the slushie.
  4. Pour the sweetened coffee over the ice in the blender.
  5. If desired, add a splash of milk or cream to the blender for extra richness and a smoother texture.
  6. Blend everything on high speed until the mixture is smooth, frosty, and has the consistency of a thick slushie. You should hear the ice crushing and see the mixture turning creamy and velvety.
  7. Stop the blender and check the texture. If it’s too runny, add more ice and blend briefly again. For a thicker consistency, blend longer until it’s icy and smooth.
  8. Pour the frosty coffee slushie into chilled glasses and serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired. This drink is best enjoyed immediately while icy and refreshing.
