Ingredients

  • 2 cups chilled Coca-Cola well chilled for maximum fizz
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice about 1-2 lemons depending on size
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice about 1-2 limes
  • 1 cup Ice cubes more or less depending on desired consistency

Equipment

  • Freezer
  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Start by pouring the chilled Coca-Cola into a freezer-safe container and place it in the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until it’s frozen into a slushy, semi-frozen state.
  2. Meanwhile, measure out fresh lemon and lime juice, and set aside. These citrus juices will add a bright tang to your slushie.
  3. Once the soda is sufficiently frozen but still scoopable, add it to a blender along with the citrus juices and ice cubes.
  4. Blend everything on high speed for about 20-30 seconds until the mixture is smooth, slushy, and bubbly, with a vibrant citrus hue.
  5. Stop blending and check the texture; it should be thick, frosty, and slightly fizzy. If you prefer it thicker, add a few more ice cubes and blend briefly again.
  6. Scoop the slushie into glasses or cups, garnishing with a slice of lemon or lime if desired. Serve immediately for a refreshing, fizzy treat.

Notes

For extra zing, add a splash of vanilla or a sprig of fresh mint. Adjust citrus amounts for sweeter or more tart flavor profiles.
