Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice preferably freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup frozen limeade concentrate thawed slightly for easy blending
  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila your favorite silver tequila
  • 1 cup ice cubes adjust for desired consistency
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar optional, for added sweetness
  • Salt for rimming salt for the glass rims

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Serving glasses

Method

  1. Begin by preparing your glasses: rub the rim with lime wedge and dip into salt to coat evenly. Set aside.
  2. Add the lime juice, thawed limeade concentrate, tequila, sugar (if using), and ice cubes into the blender. This will be the base for your slushie.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture becomes thick, icy, and slushy, about 30–45 seconds. You should see tiny ice shards and a smooth, vibrant mixture.
  4. Stop the blender and check the consistency. If it's too thin, add more ice cubes and pulse again; if too thick, stir in a splash of lime juice or water.
  5. Pour the frozen slushie into the prepared glasses, filling them almost to the top for a chilled presentation.
  6. Garnish with a lime wedge or a sprig of mint if desired, then serve immediately to enjoy the icy, citrusy refreshment.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila with extra lime juice or a splash of sparkling water. Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or simple syrup as desired. Serve immediately for the best icy texture.
