Method
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat and season the ground beef with a pinch of salt and pepper. Gently shape the beef into four equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick.
- Place the patties onto the hot grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they are nicely browned and cooked through. Use a spatula to flip and listen for a satisfying sizzle.
- During the last minute of cooking, lay a slice of cheese on each burger to melt gently over the patty. As the cheese melts, it adds gooey texture and forms the basis for the monster faces.
- While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the buns until golden brown for added crunch and to prevent sogginess. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Assemble the monsters by placing each cooked patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Top with cheesy eyes made from cheese slices, secured with toothpicks, and add crispy fried onion strings to mimic wild, spiky monster hair.
- Use additional cheese slices, cut into small shapes, to create creepy facial features if desired. Secure everything in place with toothpicks, so decorations stay put until served.
- Place the top bun over the assembled monster, gently pressing down to combine all elements. Serve immediately for the best gooey cheese experience and playful presentation.
Notes
Feel free to get creative with facial features and monster hair! Using different cheeses or candies can add extra fun. Ensure toothpicks are removed before eating to avoid any choking hazards.
