Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a thin circle about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread a generous layer of shredded mozzarella evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
- Bake the crust in the oven until it turns golden around the edges, about 10-12 minutes.
- Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly so the cheese firms up a bit for easier decoration.
- Use slices of cheese to create bandages over the pizza, starting from one side and overlapping slightly to resemble a mummy wrapping. Carefully arrange the strips to cover most of the cheese and crust.
- Place small rounds of black olives on the top for eyes, pressing them into the cheese strips for a secure hold. Add a tiny piece of olive or pepperoni for pupils if desired.
- Brush the cheese strips lightly with olive oil to help them melt slightly and add a shiny finish once baked.
- Return the decorated pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese wraps are slightly crispy and the eyes are set.
- Remove the Mummy Pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice into pieces and serve while hot, with the cheesy wrapping and eyes creating a playful, spooky look.
Notes
Feel free to add extra toppings like pepperoni or vegetables before baking for added flavor.
