Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon chunks preferably seedless and chilled
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice optional, for added zing
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional, for extra sweetness

Equipment

  • Freezer
  • Blender

Method

  1. Place the watermelon chunks in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 3 hours or until completely firm.
  2. Transfer the frozen watermelon to a blender and add lime juice and honey if using.
  3. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth, icy, and has a slushy consistency. You might need to pause and scrape down the sides.
  4. Check the texture; if it's too thick to blend, add a splash of cold water and blend again until smooth.
  5. Pour the watermelon slushie into glasses, watching the vibrant pink color swirl invitingly.
  6. Garnish with a sprig of mint or a lime wedge for extra freshness and visual appeal.

Notes

For best flavor, use freshly chilled, ripe watermelon. Adjust sweetness with honey or lime to taste. Serve immediately for the best icy texture.
