  1. Mix the water and granulated sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely and the syrup is clear. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  2. Pour the cooled sugar syrup into a large bowl or pitcher, then add the whiskey and stir to combine evenly. This creates the flavorful base for your slushie.
  3. Transfer the mixture to your blender, then add the crushed ice. Be careful to add enough ice to fill the blender for a thick, icy consistency.
  4. Blend everything on high speed until the mixture becomes thick, granular, and slushy, with the ice broken down into tiny crystals that shimmer in the blender.
  5. Pause the blender and check the texture. If it's too runny, add a bit more crushed ice and blend again until your desired consistency is reached. The mixture should be cold, semi-frozen, and slightly granular to the touch.
